Soft spotlight is to dark

Component:YafaRay Core
Category:bug report
Assigned:David Bluecame

If the distance between the (soft) spotlight and the target object is less than 1 blender unit (just a guess), the light is not bright enough.
This is a big issue in my projects because 1 blender unit = 1 meter. Which means everything under 1 meter is to dark.

On the "rendering.jpg" you can see that closest plane is the darkest which makes no sense.
I tested with this yafaray 0.1.5

rendering.jpg22.17 KB
blender_screenshot.jpg58.7 KB
spotlight_blend.zip77.38 KB

This problem will be "solved" in the next YafaRay-E version.

I say "solved" (between quotation marks) because something is not quite correct in the way the spotlights with soft shadows are calculated. There are very strange things going on and I don't really understand how are they calculated.

In any case, the problem with the darkening of the light when the distance is less than 1.f should not happen in the next version, and the light will become brighter the closer the spotlight is to the surface, as expected.
